It is the mission of the Boone and Crockett Club to promote the conservation and management of wildlife, especially big game, and its habitat, to preserve and encourage hunting, and to maintain the highest ethical standards of fair chase and sportsmanship in North America.

The records and publications programs keep the records of native North American big game for the purpose of providing a vital conservation record of excellence in specimen quality. It links it with both excellence in habitat management and wildlife management practices that produce such specimens. It also links it with excellence in hunting skills demonstrated by the taking of such specimen in a manner that fully complies with the club's fair chase code. The club also organizes recognition programs to honor specimen quality, hunter skills, sportsmanship, and management practices that produce quality wildlife populations. During the year, the organization processed 1,586 record entries. Four official measurer workshops were conducted which were located in the following areas: Indiana, Chatfield, New Jersey, and Missoula. The club's publications program published Great Rams IV (December 2018 release date). The book was supported with multi-faceted marketing plans that included direct mail and email campaigns executed by the publications program, as well as attendance at the 2019 Wild Sheep Foundation in Reno, Nevada. The author Robert Anderson was on hand for three days signing books and meeting customers. The program was also instrumental in the planning and execution of the 30th Big Game Awards trophy exhibit, which was on display at Bass Pro Shops/Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium in Springfield, Missouri, beginning May 3rd. Additionally, we produced booklets, flyers, and signs for the awards banquet and were the lead developers of merchandise and set up the on-site store for the awards banquet.
