About this organization
Mission
Brain tumors are now the leading cause of cancer deaths of children and young adults. The emotional and financial devastation it causes to families is unacceptable. The cure will eventually be found. We intend to speed up the process by speeding up the exchange of information - networking with the researchers, patient groups, and other nonprofits; raising money for research; advocating for change; hosting conferences and running research projects. Until that happens, we will help support families dealing with brain tumors by educating them on the choices they have to make, help find options for them, and even help them get access to the treatments they need with both our advocacy program and our copayment assistance program.
About
The organization raises money and awards grants for brain tumor research. They seek out the most innovative and important projects to fund. Some of the projects have already made an impact on this disease. The organization meets these goals via the website, www.virtualtrials.com, online support groups, email, and a toll-free patient help phone line. The organization finds treatment options, matches them to clinical trials, and educates them about the disease. The organization's website is one of the most comprehensive resources available for brain tumor patients to learn about the disease. The organization has also partnered with Google to provide brain tumor information through google.com.
