A long standing community resource, the school specializes in facilitating the exploration of the physical creative process, and strives to connect each student with their unique artistic voice.
About
Church Street School is a full age-range institution, providing preschool classes, after school programs, vacation camps, and classes for teens and adults, with highly acclaimed music and art faculty from around the world. Programs offered at the school include 'Creative Arts Club' after school program; the '72' teen program; group/private instrumental lessons; Dalcroze Eurhythmics; visual art classes; specialty arts workshops; parent/child classes; music therapy for special needs students. Concerts/exhibits by our students and teaching artists are also open to the public. As part of our commitment to accessibility, CSSMA offers free opportunities to participate in the school's offerings each year. For example, CSSMA holds two annual open house events when we provide free preschool music classes, all-age open art classes, group instrumental lessons and performances to the community. In addition, each week CSSMA offers a free children's chorus onsite and three free seniors chorus programs at sites throughout Lower Manhattan.
