Museum of Contemporary African Diasporian Arts

The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporian Arts (MoCADA) is devoted to utilizing the visual arts as a medium to address, discuss and debate contemporary social, political and economic issues impacting people of the African diaspora through the creation of innovative exhibitions, public programs and community outreach initiatives. As the first and only black art museum in Brooklyn, MoCADA serves one of the largest populations of people of African descent in the United States.

The Parrish is a center for cultural engagement, an inspiration and destination for the region, the nation, and the world.

Queens Museum of Art New York City Building

Mission

The Queens Museum features exhibitions that range from historical to contemporary, focus on material culture to social justice, and include site-specific temporary commissions relevant to local and global issues. Our visitor engagement agents speak multiple languages (Spanish, Mandarin, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, French and German) and are also trained to engage visitors with special needs. Over the last year, the museum has seen continued growth in our exhibitions, education and public programs for students seniors, community members, and artists. The museum hosts two major exhibition openings each year, one in the fall and one in the spring.

Museum of Modern Art

Mission

The Museum of Modern Art establishes, preserves, and documents a permanent collection of modern and contemporary art, presents exhibitions and educational programs, sustains a library, archives, and conservation laboratory and supports scholarship and publications. The Form 990 is one of several reports the Museum makes available each year. The Museum encourages it to be read in conjunction with the annual report, which provides an overview of all museum activities during the year, and with the audited financial statements, which provide additional financial context. These documents as well as previous years reports can be found on moma.org. As can be seen in the audited financial statements, operating revenues of $221.9 million exceeded operating expenses of $217.5 million by $4.4 million.

The Whitney Museum of American Art is a museum devoted to American art of the 20th and 21st centuries. In May 2015, the museum opened a new, 210,000 square foot building in downtown Manhattan. Located on Gansevoort Street between West Street and the High Line, the new building, designed by prize-winning architect Renzo Piano, provides the Whitney with essential new space for its permanent collection, temporary exhibitions, performing arts and education programs in one of New York's most vibrant neighborhoods.
