About
National Living Donor Assistance Center (NLDAC): The NLDAC was established via a government grant to reduce the financial disincentives to living organ donation and help those on the waiting list for an organ. The grant, to which the society is a sub-contractor, established and now operates a national system to provide reimbursement of travel and subsistence expenses, and other non-medical expenses, that may be authorized by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, to individuals being evaluated for and/or undergoing living organ donation. Priority is given to those individuals who cannot otherwise afford the expenses. The society's administers the day-to-day operations of the program with government funds, as outlined on pg. 10.
