In fiscal year 2019, Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble boasted many programmatic accomplishments. Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble engaged thousands of individuals through performances in communities here in New York City, and across the United States. NYC highlights included performance of 'Cellular Songs: Concert Version' at Le Poisson Rouge, a screening of the newly mastered 'Quarry Film 1975/1977' and the premiere of a new trio concert at the Jewish Museum in Manhattan, NY. National highlights included tours of 'Cellular Songs' to UCLA in Los Angeles, to the Walker Museum in Minneapolis and to Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA as well as two performances of 'Cellular Songs: Concert Version' at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN. In addition, Meredith Monk along with vocal ensemble members led a weekend long workshop at the Garrison Institute in upstate New York and the House Foundation produced its bi-annual vocal ensemble weekend workshop, training artists and educators in Monk's performance methods and artistic philosophy in her loft in New York City.
