Founded in 1924, International House seeks to develop globally-minded leaders by enabling them to live and learn together in a challenging and supportive residential community. Serving more than 700 residents from 100 countries each year, we provide a lived experience and curated programming to instill in these promising individuals cross-cultural understanding and core values of respect, empathy, and moral courage.

International House is a residential and programmatic community devoted to the mission of promoting cross-cultural understanding for 750-900 carefully selected international and American university students from over 100 countries. The resident members study or train at over 60 NYC-area institutions in a wide range of disciplines. In addition, over 400 non-resident, affiliate and alumni members participate in I.
