Mission

The mission of Cornerstone Crossroads Academy is to develop urban youth through transformative education, equipping future leaders to impact their communities through Christ.

About

Cornerstone Crossroads Academy (CCA) was incorporated in 2006 and operates in South Dallas. CCA exists to expose at-risk high school students to the hope and abundant life found in Christ and to equip students to know God and serve him forever. The mission of CCA is to develop urban youth through transformative education and equip future leaders to impact their communities for Christ. CCA accomplishes this through academics, life coaching, community service and special programs. 66% of the students served were previously incarcerated. Entering students' average reading scores are below the 6th grade level and their average math scores are below the 7th grade level. The average age of CCA students is 17.5 years old. Students typically enter CCA with fewer than 10 high school credits. 25% of the students enter with less than three high school credits. After graduation, 70% of CCA graduates begin working full time, enroll in college, or are serving in the military. It is estimated that, compared to peers who do not complete high school, high school graduates save society roughly 3,000 per year in taxes during their lifespans. An average lifespan of 55 years post-high school graduation is assumed; thus, each student graduating from CCA, who wouldn't have graduated otherwise, saves society 165,000. Using this calculation, CCA contributed an estimated net gain to society of over 2 million by investing in the lives of students each school year. CCA's primary sources of revenue are from contributions and grants. CCA is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and by AdvancED.
