Mission
The Howard County Fair and Livestock Association exists to promote, improve and enrich the life of rural and farm families in our county.
About
The Howard County Fair and Livestock Association achieved their goals through educational activities which involve children, youth and adults in learning and strengthening fundamental agricultural practices. Through these educational activities such as workshops, clinics and demonstrations, young people are introduced to correct practices emphasizing improved production of livestock, agricultural and horticultural products. The goal of such activities is to ensure the continued production of quality products from farms, gardens, pastures and forests in our county. In addition, other areas of rural and farm life are addressed through instruction in sewing, canning and food preservation, art, home life and land and water conservation and farm safety. The county fair is a teaching tool to reach people not involved in agriculture and an avenue for people in agriculture to exhibit their livestock, produce, crafts and skills to the community at large.
