Mission
Fisher House Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established to improve quality of life for military, retirees, veterans, and their families. The Foundation builds comfort homes at military and VA medical centers. It assists with the coordination of private support and encourages public support for the network of comfort homes known as Fisher Houses. It works to educate and inform about Fisher Houses and provides necessary support to individual Fisher Houses. Other Quality of Life programs include a scholarship program for military children, a grants program for volunteer organizations with innovative plans for quality of life projects, the Hero programs, and individual assistance to members of the military and their families during a crisis.
About
To promote and enhance the public perception and image of Fisher Houses and the United States Armed Forces; to construct and furnish Fisher Houses to temporarily house families and loved ones visiting military personnel in hospitals and to provide the same for other persons qualified to use such facilities; to provide financial assistance to current members of the United States Armed Forces, Veterans and their families; and to make scholarships available to members of military families recognizing the readiness of the military and the role of the commissary in the military community.
