For over 50 years, Nassau Suffolk Law Services has provided free legal representation and advocacy to low income and disabled residents of Long Island in non-criminal matters. Our cases involve Social Security, Public benefits for seniors, low income families, veterans, and disabled individuals. We preserve housing by defending foreclosures, evictions, and the rights of homeless families. We provide specialized legal assistance to people living with cancer, mental illness, HIV/Aids, those formerly incarcerated and survivors of domestic violence. SLS also supports the work of community agencies by providing them with the education they need to do their advocacy work effectively.
