The mission of the Chariho Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty locally, nationally, and internationally.

Community giving (local, national and international): 4th grade forester program - in partnership with the National Arbor Day Society and local elementary schools, all children received a tree during Arbor Day to plant. Ashaway Free Library - computers for new community room. Arrowhead Dentistry - dentistry from the heart program for uninsured dental patients. Chariho Little League - provide funds to support local sports programs. Warm Center meal support - provide financial support and volunteers to assist in serving free meals to the community dining program provided by the local emergency shelter and community kitchen. Also provided additional funds to support summer lunch program for children. Rican - donation to assist organization in providing emergency food, clothing, and other vital supports to neighbors in crisis throughout the state, primarily in Washington County and surrounding areas. YMCA reach out to youth program - provide financial support to the local YMCA for membership and camp scholarships. Gaits of Harmony - support to provide a lift assist device for disabled children and adults who benefit from riding therapy. Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce Duck Race - fundraiser to support local education and not-for-profit institutions. Wood River Health Services - local federally qualified health center serving the Chariho community. Funding for renovation of behavioral health space. Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County - is dedicated to both preventing and responding to domestic violence by working to change the social conditions, beliefs and social actions that perpetuate abuse. Chariho High School Interact Club - financial and volunteer support are provided to the local Interact Club for community service projects that include Christmas gifts for local families in need, heating oil support, and a number of other community service projects. Jonnycake Center of Westerly - provides a continuum of services in cooperation with other agencies in our service area to assist people through crisis situations and work with each individual to find a path out of dependency toward self-sufficiency. International program support: Aldea - Chariho Rotary participated as one of 23 Rotary Clubs from RI, CT, and MA with matching grants from Rotary International, to raise over 160,000 to support fresh drinking water and sanitation projects in three needy communities in Guatemala. Chikumbuso - Chikumbuso provides free schooling for the children, as well as adult training and capacity building, income generating activities and community building programs. Polio Plus - provides financial support for the Rotary program to eradicate polio. Shelter Box - international aid organization assisting in disaster relief. Contribution in partnership with Chariho Interact Club.
