Foster program - as part of our foster program for the 145+ cats in foster care at any given time, we purchase wet and dry cat food, including some prescription foods for cats with medical issues, litter, beds, scratching posts, towers, cleaning supplies, and anything else needed to give the cats good homes in foster care until they are adopted, which sometimes takes years due to the slow socialization or chronic illnesses of some cats. As part of this program, we supported the housing expenses of a large foster home where many feral or semi-feral cats were housed for socialization until they were ready for adoption. This included utilities and snow removal.
