Mission

About

ONLINE RESOURCES AND SWAN DAY: WomenArts provides a variety of free online services designed to increase the opportunities & visibility of women artists. We maintain a website with hundreds of pages of educational information for women artists. We publish free newsletters with articles about inspiring women artists around the world and links to research studies and funding information. Our newsletters are sent to approximately 12,500 subscribers world-wide, and our Facebook pages have approximately 10,000 fans. We answer a steady stream of email and phone questions about arts management issues. We also collaborate with StateraArts and other non-profits on an annual international holiday called Support Women Artists Now Day or SWAN Day for short. We invite artists in all art forms to create events celebrating women artists during March (Women's History Month). During 2018-19 we provided funding so that StateraArts could handle all communication with the artists, maintain the official SWAN Calendar and related web materials, and publicize SWAN Day events through blogs and social media. There were approximately 200 SWAN events during our 2018-19 fiscal year.
