The food cupboard is an ecumenical food pantry dedicated to alleviating hunger by providing supplemental food to the needy of South Portland, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough and surrounding communities.

The food cupboard is responsible for sharing a week's worth of nutritional food for up to four members of a family once per month. Sixteen percent are children under 12. Eight percent are children between 13 and 18. Fourteen percent are men and women between 60 and 90. Elderly South Portland residents, who are either incapacitated or without transportation are delivered a week's worth of food once per month. 8,219 men, women, and children were served this year. Over 85 men and women volunteer their time each week to operate the cupboard.
