The Lyme Foundation supported a number of projects including: studies and services, support for local food assistance programs, Vegicare and Soupercare, clock maintenance and training. Equipment and materials purchase: batting cages at Post Pond and skating rink materials for the rink on the common. Programs: invasive plant management at the town's Big Rock Nature Preserve and general support to the Kilham Bear Center and Lyme Congregational Church. The Pearl Dimick Fund was used to support 10 individuals/families in financial need for children's summer camp tuition and utility expenses. In addition, cash gifts were given to three families for the holidays. The Chaffee Fund awarded grants to five individuals/families in financial need for children's summer camp tuition and utility expenses. In addition, cash gifts were given to three families for the holidays. The Dimick Fund provided car repair (2), rent assistance, fuel assistance (15 families), summer children's camp tuition (8) and 35 holiday checks to needy or elderly households. Using a gift from the estate of Freda and Hank Swan, longtime residents of Lyme who sought to support the Lyme community by advancing the work of the Lyme Foundation, the Lyme Foundation created a special fund in their honor and awarded $300,000 for projects addressing innovation, town infrastructure and natural areas and recreation in Lyme, as well as strengthening existing Lyme organizations.
