“I have two daughters. One is cisgender and one is transgender. Loving them is the easiest thing I’ve ever done. But sadly, a sizable chunk of this country doesn’t feel that way. They’d rather vilify, torment, and endanger kids like mine to grab power and stoke fear. The Human Rights Campaign is there to love and protect queer kids when their elected officials, families and communities will not. I am just one person. I can’t protect and love and fight for all the transgender kids in the world as I do with my own, but the HRC can. I’ve seen what true unconditional love can do to give a child who’s different her childhood back. Supporting the HRC is my way of trying to do that at scale. ”
