Three years ago, on September 30, 2021, Daffy went live. It started with a simple, yet ambitious, idea: help people be more generous, more often. Fast forward to today, and what began as a bold vision has transformed into a thriving community of thousands of people, all committed to making giving a regular part of their lives.
From day one, we’ve believed that with the right combination of technology and community, we could inspire people to make giving a bigger part of their lives. And thanks to all of you—our members, partners, supporters, and team—we’ve been able to do just that.
It’s Our Members Who Inspire Us Most
One of the best parts of building Daffy these past three years has been hearing directly from our members. They are the ones who make our mission real, and their stories continue to inspire us every day.
- Amanda shared that using Daffy has made charitable giving more accessible and consistent for her. She said, "It’s been important to think about those less fortunate than I am, and Daffy makes it easy to give a percentage of my income to different causes."
- Geoff spoke about how Daffy has become a tool for teaching his children about generosity, saying, “We were looking for ways to create generational impact with our giving, and Daffy helped us do this efficiently."
- Pranav highlighted how the platform’s simplicity has allowed him to give more. “It’s all integrated in one app, and because of that, I’m more regular with my giving. Daffy has made it easy to stay committed to the causes I care about.” He even noted that after due to his investment growth, he was able to give over $22,000 to charities while still growing his remaining balance.
- Gretchen echoed this, explaining how Daffy has helped her family give more than they initially planned. “We ended up giving about 20% more because Daffy’s flexibility allowed us to stagger donations over time."
Building Something Together
I am especially proud of the team Alejandro and I have built here at Daffy. Most of our members don’t get to hear from them as often as I do, so we put together a special video recap where they talk about what they’ve loved building over the past three years and what excites them most about the future of our platform.
Over the past three years, we have focused on making giving easier and as frictionless as possible. Our team has continued to innovate and push the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of donor-advised funds. From integrating crypto donations and investments to creating features like Daffy Gifts and Daffy Campaigns that allow you to share your giving experience with others, we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished—and we’re just getting started.
