Mission
In November of 2009, Adopt Program, Inc. ('Adopt') began primarily focusing its efforts and resources towards 'Project: Troop Dogs' which provides care packages to military war dog teams overseas. There are an estimated 2,700 war dog teams in the military and about 700 in the Middle East. The care packages contain needed items for both the dog and the human handler of the dog. Adopt receives requests for the packages through its website (www.troopdogs.org) and through the U.S. War Dog Association. Adopt receives both monetary donations and donations of items used to fill the packages from the general public. Adopt purchases the additional items for the care packages, prepares the packages for shipping and ships them to the designated recipients. A total of 79 care packages have been sent since the program began in November of 2009.
