About
In a world of rising costs, many of our neighbors are forced to make impossible decisions between buying enough food for their household and other essentials of daily life: rent, medical bills/prescriptions, and gas in their car. This leaves hundreds of children and adults in our community without enough food to eat or a safe place to sleep. It not only harms their family's future but our community as a whole. SLCFP is one of the largest pantries in the East Bay. In 2013 we started small, serving about 50 clients. In 2022, the San Leandro Community Food Pantry (SLCFP) distributed over 200,000 pounds of groceries to more than 1,000 households in our community, giving individuals and families much-needed help in their struggle against food insecurity.
