Geoversity is an alliance of accomplished individuals and organizations that share a commitment?to learning from and partnering with nature. The Earth Train Foundation and Fundacin Earth Train are serving as the international secretariat for Geoversity. Eventually, we will change the name of Earth Train Foundation to Geoversity Foundation.The Earth Train-founded Mamon Valley Preserve, the City of Knowledge and the Frank Gehry-designed Biomuseo are serving as Geoversitys primary campuses. Were also developing field stations in other locations, particularly on the island of So Jorge, the Azores, Portugal with activities taking place primarily during the months of June, July and August.In March, Geoversity conducted its second workshop in Panama on natural design led by Jrg Stamm, the internationally renowned builder specializing in bamboo, and the award-winning architect Patrick Dillon. The workshop was conducted at the Frank Gehry-designed Biomuseo, a Geoversity member institution. The resulting structure was widely celebrated and recognized by both Panamas Minister of the Environment and the Mayor of Panama City as a model design pointing the way toward the development of sustainable building practices and new rural industry. We formally launched Geoversity Design, an informal collective of designers and artists dedicated to designing with nature. Among the co-founders are the builder Jrg Stamm and Frank Gehry senior partner Anand Devarajan. As depicted in the above referenced video, the building is being used for educational and training activities related to Geoversity Design.This year Earth Train managed the conduct of the first The Nature of Business educational conference for business leaders interested in learning from nature. The program, carried out in January, involved seminars hosted by the City of Knowledge Foundation, a Geoversity member institution, and held at Centro Mamon, Earth Trains science and educational facility located in the 10,000-acre Mamon Valley Preserve that Earth Train co-founded and co-manages.The above-referenced report on the start-up of Geoversity provides additional information on the many accomplishments of Earth Train Foundation during FY 2017, in addition to our on-going internship and volunteer service programs.
