Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee, an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community, is dedicated to providing support, education and hope to all people impacted by cancer, including family members and friends of those diagnosed. Free of charge to everyone, Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee’s evidence-based programming for men, women, children and families includes support groups, healthy lifestyle workshops, mind-body classes, social activities, educational lectures and community resource information. Offering approximately 70 professionally-led support and networking groups, and more than 80 educational workshops and lectures each month from two locations, Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee is able to make a tangible difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer. We build community, so no one has to face cancer alone. Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee mission is to ensure all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.

SUPPORT GROUPS: WEEKLY ONGOING GROUPS FACILITATED BY LICENSED CLINICIANS TO PROVIDE EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL SUPPORT FOR MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN WITH CANCER, THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. NETWORKING GROUPS: MONTHLY OR BI-MONTHLY GROUPS THAT ARE DIAGNOSIS SPECIFIC OR ISSUE SPECIFIC, FACILITATED BY LICENSED CLINICIANS AND ARE FOR MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN WITH CANCER, THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS. LECTURES AND WORKSHOPS: EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDING SELF-SKILL TOOLS FOR LIVING WITH CANCER, FACILITATED BY TRAINED VOLUNTERS, AND ARE FOR MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN WITH CANCER, THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS. DONATED SERVICES AND FACILITIES FOR PROGRAM WORKSHOPS CONSISTED OF THE FOLLOWING: HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS - 21,000 MOVEMENT & FITNESS - 11,760 COOKING & NUTRITION - 7,200 ART INSTRUCTION - 11,760 IT MAINTENANCE - 3,600 INDIVIDUAL/GROUP COUNSELING - 75,240 THESE DONATED SERVICES AND FACILITIES TOTAL 130,560 FOR THE YEAR ENDED DECEMBER 31, 2018. SOCIALS: OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS TO GATHER FOR SOCIAL INTERACTIONS, AND INCLUDES MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN WITH CANCER, THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS. DURING 2018, THERE WERE 13,588 CLUBHOUSE MEMBER AND GUEST VISITS AND AN ADDITIONAL 6,387 PEOPLE WERE SERVED THROUGH A VARIETY OF OUTREACH EFFORTS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. THERE WERE 2,675,072 MEDIA IMPRESSIONS(FACEBOOK, TWITTER, PAPERS, MAGAZINES, ETC). IN 2018 THERE WERE 417 CMP'S (CUSTOMIZED MEMBERSHIP PLANS) AND 195 CHILDREN AND TEENS. IN 2018, THE ORGANIZATION WAS IN A GROWTH PHASE, ADDING TO AND PLANNING FOR NEW PROGRAM OFFERINGS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE LARGER REGION OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE. WE ADDED INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING WHEREBY UP TO 205 PEOPLE ANNUALLY RECEIVED 6 FREE SESSIONS OF COUNSELING UNDERWRITTEN BY GILDA'S CLUB.
